Additional Postpartum Care:
Home visits at 1 and 3 days postpartum including ongoing monitoring of maternal and newborn vital signs, infant weight and length, and monitoring of sutures if indicated.
Also included are newborn screening required by the state of Texas, filing of the birth certificate, and a keepsake birth certificate with baby’s footprints.
Office visits at 2 and 6 weeks postpartum include monitoring of maternal and newborn vitals, infant weight and length, monitoring of sutures if indicated, and a pap smear at 6 weeks if indicated. |
Gentle Care and Relaxation
All monitoring is done in an unrushed and loving manner. There is never any need for your baby to be taken from you. All care can be completed with baby in arms or right next to mom in bed.
In addition to clinical monitoring, both Moms and babies will be able to relax in a soothing, herbal bath about 1 hour after the birth.
And Finally...
Before leaving your house we will straighten the birth area as needed, ensure that you have eaten a full, nutritious meal, help to establish breastfeeding, and discuss what is normal during the first 24 hours following birth. |
