Pregnancy Etiquette 101- What not to say or do to a pregnant woman

    1. This is perhaps the absolute most important thing to remember with pregnant women. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ask a woman if she is pregnant, unless you see a head or she has told you that she is pregnant. Many women are either not pregnant or are too early on in their pregnancies to be reminded that there is a little fluff that you are paying attention to.
    2. Pregnant women, while they may be very Buddha-like, are not for rubbing, so don’t rub a strangers big ol’ pregnant belly.
    3. A pregnant woman is very aware of the size of her growing belly and doesn’t need reminding of it. Keeping this in mind, Don’t say the following:
      • "Wow!! You’re huge!"
      • "Are you sure you’re not having twins?"
      • "You’re just too tiny, there’s no way you’re that far along."
    4. Do not assume that women want to hear your birth horror stories. The mind is very powerful and disturbing thoughts and images can wreak havoc on a woman’s positive attitude towards her own birth. So, keep it to yourself!
    5. Women are acutely aware of their due dates. When you see them towards the end of their pregnancy, please, for the love of God do not continually say:
      •  “When you gonna have that baby?”
      •  “You haven’t had that baby yet?”
      • “You’re still pregnant?”
